  Solar Ovens

News Flash! Home Power Magazine published an article in their Jan/Feb issue of the magazine on the Solar Chef StarFlower. It was tested by Kathleen Jarschke-Schultze last fall, and her results are extremely positive! Here is the link to read the article, in case you did not purchase that issue of Home Power. http://www.homepower.com/165.60

We are now actively seeking an investor or investors to help launch the production of these ovens. If you know of someone who would be interested in beginning a dialogue about becoming a part of this wonderful new adventure in solar cooking, please call the number listed!

Learn more about solar ovens from Solar Chef® International, based in Lubbock, Texas. Our company will soon be manufacturing these high performance ovens that provide an alternative cooking method with no environmental pollutants. Solar Chef® StarFlower will be available in 36-inch and 48-inch diameter and can go in places where fires and glass containers are prohibited.

Oven Features
Burning only sunshine, the Solar Chef® allows you to cook anywhere under the sun with its removable, durable Lexan® dome and insulated cooking chamber. This state-of-the-art outdoor oven costs nothing to operate, yet delivers the same cooking performance of a conventional oven as it bakes, browns, roasts or cooks food using your regular oven cookwear.

Harnessing the Sun’s Power
Each oven contains 10 powerful, high quality, highly polished aluminum segments. These segments harness the power of the sun and direct it into the cooking chamber, heating it up to 500 degrees. The large capacity stainless steel cooking chamber handles up to 2 gallons of liquid (rice, beans) in the 36" and 5 gallons in the 48" StarFlower. In the picture to the left, 2 gallons of water are boiling in the larger StarFlower with the dome removed and only a plexiglas covering to retain the heat in the black metal pot.
